Of course they were wrong. The fans, my public, cheered when I admitted it was me, and that calendar and that Playboy first-issue publicity helped my career. Stories appeared in all the newspapers. The calendar picture of me was finally considered a work of art. At first the U.S. Post Office refused [to permit] the calendar to be sent by mail. It was classified as pornographic, and even some states put a ban on it being sold there.
